-
Q.
Where does Hamilton Staffing have assignments?
-
A.
We have assignments in hospitals all over the US.
-
Q.
How much and how frequently do you pay?
-
A.
Travel nurses earn much higher rates of pay than staff nurses and Hamilton Staffing has some of the highest paying contracts in the business. Average annual pay for travelers with us is over $100,000 a year and you have the flexibility of setting your own schedule, taking time off when you need to. Paychecks are every Friday for the week ending the Saturday before; on time and always right.
-
Q.
How long are travel assignments?
-
A.
Most of our assignments are 13 weeks long; however, there are occasions when we have shorter urgent need assignments that may last from four to eight weeks.
-
Q.
Do you offer housing or stipends?
-
A.
We have both options available. Our housing department can find accommodation for you or you can take the stipend and find your own while keeping the generous tax-free allowances we offer.
-
Q.
Will I have to float to other units?
-
A.
It’s possible that a hospital will require you to float to other units; however, you will never be asked, nor will the hospital be allowed to ask you to float to a unit you are not qualified to work in. Float requirements will be stated upfront and in your contract so you will be aware before you go to the assignment.
-
Q.
Will I be an independent contractor or a Hamilton Employee?
-
A.
All of our nurses are our employees. At the end of each year you will be provided with a W2 and a summary of the federal and state taxes we withheld and paid on your behalf. As an employee you have access to our benefits package unlike a 1099 independent contractor.
-
Q.
Do you offer guaranteed hours?
-
A.
Yes, all of our contracts have a guarantee of work hours stated. There may be occasions when a shift is cancelled but you will be paid your guaranteed hours as long as you were available to work. Overtime pay is paid after 40 hours – although overtime rules are different in California where we pay overtime after eight hours in a single day.
-
Q.
What benefits do you offer?
-
A.
We have a full benefits package for our employees including, medical, dental, vision, and a 401K. We will continue to add benefits as the company grows because our nurses always come first.
